Art Director/Director/Concept Artist. Annie Award nominee (Best Production Design for TV/Media for Star Wars Visions: SITH) and 3 times Quirino Awards nominee, Carlos Salgado began his journey in the film industry at User T38 working on Storyboards and Concept Art for directors such as Alejandro Amenábar, Nacho Vigalondo, Andy Muschetti, Richard Stanley, J.C Fresnadillo, Gabe Ibañez, Sergio G. Sanchez…

In 2011 he moved to Toronto to work with Guillermo del Toro on Pacific Rim as a concept artist.

Parallel to his work for film and advertising, he directed several animation projects for advertising campaigns (Los Nadie for the NGO Africa Directo, Partir de Cero for Fundación Secretariado Gitano, The Lightstream for BBVA), opening titles (Torrente 5 Operación Eurovegas) or sequences for films (The Captain’s Tale of Zipi and Zape 2, the animated prologue of Gernika).

He finished Wayback in 2020, produced in UserT38 with the help of Movistar+ and CAM. A personal short film project, along the way he is nominated for 3 Quirino awards, wins awards at festivals such as (Animayo, Mundos Digitales, Medina del Campo…), is shortlisted for the Goya Awards and selected at festivals around the world (Sitges, Japan media Arts Festival, Fantasia Montreal, LA Shorts…)

In 2021 he began working as art director with director Rodrigo Blaas (Alma, Trollhunters…) and El Guiri Studios in SITH, part of the anthology Star Wars Visions S2, for which work he was nominated for the Annie Awards in Best Production Design for Tv/Media category.
